Motorcycle First Responder Training

It’s a fact that motorcycle riding has an upside and a downside. Riding can be exhilarating and fun, giving you a sense of freedom and enjoyment. However, you assume some risk whenever you ride.

With any risk faced, it’s a good idea to prepare for it! This is exactly what we do in a short 2.5-hour, realistic, no-nonsense training presentation about what to do if you are the first to come across a road incident.

This training covers all aspects of what to do (and what not to do) if you are involved in a crash, either as the casualty or first responder. It will give you a sense of being effective and able to give the best assistance to a fallen motorcyclist. Based on many years of experience as a motorcyclist as well as an ambulance, fire emergency, and motorcycle events medic, Nine Scott has designed this hands-on training specifically for motorcycle riders in NZ. This course has also been influenced by and follows the principles of a tactical medical response used by army and law enforcement all over the world.

What Nine will teach you in this 2.5-hour training:

  • learn the most common injuries that bikers get

  • how to deal with wounds using a minimal amount of gear

  • the confidence to make quick decisions

All attendees also receive a military bandage (also known as an Israeli bandage) and a memory aid that will be useful to recall the training.

The Motorcycle Crash First Responder training is not a general first aid course. If you would like to attend a first aid course that incorporates the appropriate NZQA credits needed for WorkSafe requirements contact Nine about a 6-hour refresher, 8-hour basic first aid, or the 12-hours comprehensive first aid course.
